In the last few years we have been working hard to become one of the best and most responsible tour operators in Arequipa. Since we operate all our tours on our own, we have the fool control of the quality and service. The most important thing for us is that our clients enjoy fully our service. Also important is that everybody involved in the operation is well treated and cared for (guides, local people...). All our guides are fairly paid and well treated. They work with a lot of passion and joy for our company Ventura Travel.

Making a trek booking

Before making a reservation with Ventura Travel it is important and helpful to read through our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). This will already help answer any queries that you may have about our services or about the trekking.

Itinerary

First day

You will be picked up from your hostel with our private van (Bus) at 6am, we will then make our way to Cabanaconde, the Colca Canyon´s largest town, where we´ll have lunch at a restaurant. Shortly after midday we´ll start the trek down into the canyon.After five hours more or less downhill walking we arrive at the first community of Llahuar (1'900 m), where we can enjoy the thermal baths and watch the geysers (only during the rain season!). We can also fish for trout along the river. We spend our first night there in a beautifully made lodge.

Second day

Next day we start very early in the morning until the village of Fure (2'758 m), a beautiful Oasis where we take our lunch. During the whole trek up to Fure we will pass a lovely village called Llatica and we are also going to see a lot of plants, animals and more interesting things. In Fure we leave our luggage at the hostel and hike up to the waterfalls of Huaruro (80 m high). We are heading back to Fure, having dinner and then going to bed early again.

Third day

Next day we hike down all the way to the Oasis. The trip is more or less on a plateau and we have a beautiful view the whole time. We may even be able to observe condors or other animals. At the Oasis we spend about four hours to rest, have lunch, swim in the pool or just relax. Fit again we hike back up to Cabanaconde at around 4.00pm, when the sun is not too strong anymore. On that day we overnight in a hostel in Cabanaconde and are going to have dinner in a restaurant as well.

Fourth day

On the last day we get up quite early, at around 7.00am. After breakfast we take our private transport to Cruz del Condor where we have time to observe the famous Condors for a while. After that we take the bus back to Chivay where you can visit the Hot Springs. We also have lunch afterwards in Chivay before we take the bus back to Arequipa where you will arrive at around 6.00am-6.30pm.
